If there’s one great British institution that has stood the test of time, it’s the Pub!
Through the ages names may have changed from Inn to Tavern to Public House, but what has never changed is the popularity of a great place where people sit, talk and enjoy a drink.
Just recently the creative imaginative folks over at NewcastleGateshead Initiative took to Twitter to ask their social friends what they thought were the 10 best pubs in Newcastle and Gateshead.

Let’s be honest, it’s a tough ask and you are spoilt for choice.
Making time for a drink is part of life in The Toon and the city is world famous for its nightlife and party scene.
To get a Top-10 you’d have to visit the most celebrated watering holes of the city taking you through the Bigg Market, Quayside, Central Station area, Ouseburn, Byker, into Jesmond, the Haymarket and finally Gateshead itself.
