Sleeperz Hotels to create 25 new jobs in Newcastle

(Newcastle, October 25 – 2011) Sleeperz Hotels, the innovative budget hotel business, is to create 25 new jobs when it opens its first North East hotel in Newcastle in December.

Construction is well underway on the 98-bedroom, six storey hotel situated on the site of the former Parcel Works on Newcastle’s Westgate Road near Central Station.

The hotel is a design-led premium budget hotel – the first of its kind in Newcastle – offering high quality colourful, compact and contemporary rooms at affordable rates for leisure and business travellers.

David Myers, chief executive of Sleeperz Hotels, said:

“We are thrilled that our investment is creating good jobs for local people in the North East during a challenging time for the UK economy.

North East England is known for friendliness and its warmth of welcome. We would like local people to play a big part in delivering great service to our customers and inspiring people to return to the region again and again.”

Sleeperz Hotels is now recruiting to fill roles ranging from housekeepers and porters to a senior financial controller.

Sleeperz Hotels plans to open a new niche in the budget hotel market in Newcastle, creating higher quality rooms that offer an urban living experience in a city centre environment.

Rates will start from £60 for rooms with floor to ceiling windows, wet-rooms and sleek functional desks for business travelers.

The development is Sleeperz second UK hotel and follows around £7m of investment in the Sleeperz brand and the opening of Sleeperz Cardiff in November 2008.

The company has plans to expand and Sleeperz Hotels has earmarked major UK cities, including Liverpool, Manchester and London as potential venues for hotels in the next phase of development.
